National Museum of Play Recognition Act

This bill, the National Museum of Play Recognition Act, designates the Margaret Woodbury Strong Museum (the Strong Museum) in Rochester, New York, as the National Museum of Play. It recognizes that the museum is dedicated to exploring how play supports learning, creativity, and discovery and how play illuminates cultural history. Importantly, the designation is purely symbolic and does not convert the museum into a unit of the National Park System, nor does it authorize or require any federal funding for the museum. In short, Congress would officially recognize the Strong Museum as the National Museum of Play, but the museum would remain privately operated and funded, with no obligation for federal money to be spent on its activities.
