More Funding for COPS Act

This bill, titled the More Funding for COPS Act, would reauthorize the COPS on the Beat grant program, which supports public safety and community policing grants under the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968. The key change is a new authorized funding level: the bill replaces the prior authorization of $1,047,119,000 per fiscal year (for 2006–2009) with a higher authorization of $1,163,032,000 per fiscal year for fiscal years 2026 through 2030. In short, it extends the program and increases the annual funding available for years 2026–2030, subject to future appropriations.
