Save Our Forests Act of 2025
The Save Our Forests Act of 2025 (H.R. 3559) would require the U.S. Forest Service, within 30 days of enactment, to use existing funds to increase staffing to protect and manage the National Forest System and to reinstate employees who were involuntarily removed or terminated from January 20, 2025 through enactment. It also directs the Forest Service to continue carrying out projects funded under several current laws, including the Federal Lands Recreation Enhancement Act, various provisions in title 54 (U.S. Code), the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, and the Inflation Reduction Act. In short, the bill aims to rapidly expand the Forest Service’s workforce and restore some previously separated staff, while ensuring ongoing funded projects continue without interruption.
