National ACERT Grant Program Authorization Act
H.R. 3601, the National ACERT Grant Program Authorization Act, would amend the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968 to create a new Adverse Childhood Experiences Response Team (ACERT) Grant Program. The program would award grants to States, units of local government, Indian Tribes, and neighborhood or community-based organizations to establish ACE response teams. These teams would coordinate across agencies and sectors to address adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) resulting from trauma exposure, with activities ranging from establishing trauma-informed protocols and referral networks to cross-system collaboration among law enforcement, mental health, health care, child welfare, education, and other partners. The Attorney General, in coordination with the Secretary of Health and Human Services, would administer the grants. The bill authorizes $10 million per fiscal year for 2026–2029.
