Life Month Resolution
H. J. Res. 98 is a joint resolution introduced in the 119th Congress that would designate June each year as “Life Month.” The measure is non-binding and ceremonial; it does not create new rights, laws, or spending. It frames life as an unalienable right and emphasizes the protection of unborn life in the context of the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health decision (2022), which it says returned authority to the people and their elected representatives to protect unborn life. The resolution also commends faith-based groups, pregnancy resource centers, medical professionals, and families that support a culture of life, and it urges policymakers to defend the sanctity of life by enacting laws to protect the unborn and by providing resources to help women and families choose life.
