Supporting the designation of Family Month.
H. Res. 475 is a House resolution introduced in the 119th Congress (June 4, 2025) with the aim of “designating Family Month.” It is a nonbinding, symbolic statement from the House rather than a bill that creates law or spends money. The resolution asserts that the traditional nuclear family is foundational to a healthy society, emphasizes the importance of a married mother and father for children, and opposes Pride Month. It states the House should recognize the benefits of marriage and family, stop recognizing Pride Month, and designate a Family Month to rededicate the nation to the importance of the traditional family. As a resolution, it does not by itself enact policy or authorize funding. Instead, it expresses the views and intentions of the sponsoring Members and could influence public dialogue or future legislative initiatives related to family policy, but it would require additional steps to become law or to change federal practice.
