CMV–22 Readiness Enhancement and Industrial Sustainment Act
This bill, the CMV-22 Readiness Enhancement and Industrial Sustainment Act, would authorize the Secretary of the Navy to integrate nacelle improvements into the CMV-22 aircraft fleet as part of a readiness and reliability initiative. Grounded in proven success from similar upgrades to the CV-22, the plan aims toboost CMV-22 availability and cut maintenance time, while also sustaining the tiltrotor industrial base and the workforce in Amarillo, Texas during a transition period between V-22 production and the future long-range assault aircraft program. Importantly, the bill does not create new spending authority; any implementation would depend on existing and future appropriations. It also requires a congressional report within 180 days detailing status, effectiveness, and workforce impact, and it calls for close coordination with defense acquisition leadership to protect the supply chain during the transition.
