MARCH for Military Servicemembers Act

The MARCH for Military Servicemembers Act would repeal a current restriction in title 10 of the U.S. Code that blocks the Department of Defense from using its funds and facilities for abortion care (Section 1093). By removing this prohibition, the bill would allow DoD funds and DoD medical facilities to be used for abortion services, effectively expanding access to abortion care within the military health system. The bill does not create new funding or a mandate to provide abortions; it removes a barrier, leaving implementation decisions to the Department of Defense through its policies and programs. The bill is titled the Military Access to Reproductive Care and Health for Military Servicemembers Act (MARCH for Military Servicemembers Act) and was introduced in the House on June 12, 2025, by Rep. Houlahan (along with co-sponsors). It has been referred to the Committee on Armed Services.
