Patriotism Not Pride Act

Patriotism Not Pride Act would prohibit certain federal activities related to Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, and Intersex (LGBTQ+) Pride Month and block the display of flags representing sexual orientation or gender identity on federal property or grounds. Introduced on June 17, 2025, the bill would bar federal agencies from using funds to develop, organize, promote, or endorse Pride Month events or any related communications, programs, or campaigns. It also would prohibit displaying Pride or LGBTQ+-related flags on federal property. The term “agency” for purposes of this bill is the standard federal-definition used in 5 U.S.C. 551(1). The sponsors frame the measure as a matter of patriotism over Pride-focused messaging.
