Restoring Biological Truth in Government Act

The Restoring Biological Truth in Government Act would bar heads of executive agencies from asking about gender identity on any form or survey and require that the only options for sex or gender be “male” or “female.” Forms or surveys that offer any other option would be rejected. The bill also requires the Director of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) to issue guidance within 180 days to implement these provisions. It defines “executive agency” broadly to include the White House, executive departments, independent regulatory agencies, military departments, government corporations, and similar entities, and it provides specific definitions for terms like “sex,” “male,” “female,” “gender,” and “gender identity,” with gender identity distinguished from sex or gender.
