National Concussion and Traumatic Brain Injury Clearinghouse Act of 2025
This bill would create a National Concussion and Traumatic Brain Injury Clearinghouse (NCTBIC), a centralized, publicly accessible resource for vetted best practices, medical knowledge, certification guidance, and research on concussion and traumatic brain injury (TBI) and related conditions. A Federal official—designated jointly by the Secretary of Health and Human Services, the Director of the CDC, and the Secretary of Labor (with the CDC Director becoming the designated official if the agencies cannot agree within 60 days)—would be responsible for establishing and maintaining the clearinghouse. The aim is to provide reliable information to medical professionals to improve patient care, and to patients and stakeholders so they can find appropriate providers and access high-quality information. The clearinghouse may work with nonprofit groups, consumer groups, federal/state/local agencies, or the media to share information, and must be set up within 120 days of enactment. In short, this bill seeks to standardize and centralize access to expert guidance on concussion and TBI, and to help both clinicians and patients navigate care options and current research.
