Sport Fish Restoration, Recreational Boating Safety, and Wildlife Restoration Act of 2025

This bill, the Sport Fish Restoration, Recreational Boating Safety, and Wildlife Restoration Act of 2025, would make four major changes to the existing Dingell-Johnson Sport Fish Restoration Act and add a new tax change: - It extends the authorization period for annual appropriations under the Dingell-Johnson Act from 2026 to 2031, effectively lengthening the funding horizon for sport fish restoration and related programs. - It adjusts funding rules for the Interstate Fisheries Commissions, increasing the minimum guaranteed funding and tying at least a portion of support to a formula based on the overall appropriation. - It expands the scope of boating infrastructure investments to explicitly include facilities and activities related to alternative fuels for recreational boats, including the development and maintenance of alternative fuel stations and related infrastructure; it also introduces explicit definitions for alternative marine fuels and related terms. - It adds a tax alteration: a reduced excise tax rate (3%) for portable, electronically-aerated bait containers, changing the current rate of 10%.
