Department of Veterans Affairs Claim Sharks Effective Warnings Act of 2025

This bill would modernize and expand warnings about predatory practices by individuals acting as agents or attorneys in veterans’ claims. Specifically, it broadens where warnings must appear, ensures warnings cover both recognized and unrecognized representatives, adds a new warning about not sharing Department or bank login credentials, and requires the warnings to be issued by the Secretary through the Chief Veterans Experience Officer. The changes take effect 180 days after enactment. The overall aim is to shield veterans from scams and misuse by agents or attorneys in the claims process.
