SUE Act

The Stop Unnecessary Expenditures Act (SUE Act) would bar the use of any federal funds to pay for a Wall Street Journal subscription for any congressional office or for any congressional committee. The prohibition takes effect in fiscal year 2025 and continues in subsequent years. The bill is a targeted budget-cutting measure intended to reduce government spending on subscriptions for official congressional activities, regardless of other laws that might otherwise permit such expenditure.
