Baby Safety Tax Relief Act

The Baby Safety Tax Relief Act would bar the President from imposing any duties on a defined set of baby items (baby carriages, strollers, baby carriers, and baby car seats) under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA). It also requires the President to terminate any duties on these items that are currently in place as of enactment. Additionally, any duties on these items imposed under other authorities that are substantially similar to IEEPA would have no force. In short, the bill would remove import duties on key baby safety items and prevent similar duties from being imposed in the future, with an immediate effect upon enactment.
