National Fire Academy Reporting Act

National Fire Academy Reporting Act would require the Administrator of the National Fire Academy (within the U.S. Fire Administration) to submit an annual report to Congress detailing courses and programs offered by the Academy. The report must cover the immediately preceding fiscal year and include: the number of fire departments and their locations that attended Academy courses, the number of attending personnel (broken out as career vs. volunteer), total courses/programs offered and cancelled, and the amount of funds awarded under specific grant authorities (disaggregated for state vs. local training programs and for students). The reporting requirement begins after the first full year following enactment, with reports due to Congress no later than November 30 each year. The bill also reorganizes section 7 of the Federal Fire Prevention and Control Act of 1974 to add this new annual reporting subsection.
