O DAIRY Act of 2025

The O DAIRY Act of 2025 proposes a broad set of measures to support organic dairy producers and processors. It would extend certain emergency assistance programs to cover organic dairy losses beyond what current disaster programs provide, improve data collection and reporting on organic dairy economics, establish a safety-net proposal tailored to organic dairy farms, and invest in processing infrastructure and regional market development. The overarching goals are to reduce volatility and risk for organic dairy operations, improve transparency around costs and prices, and strengthen regional supply chains to promote locally sourced organic dairy. If enacted, the bill would create new data systems (cost-of-production data, organic feed prices, and an Organic All Milk Prices Survey), set up a safety-net planning process with an emphasis on small operations, and authorize funding for infrastructure and regional market support efforts intended to expand regional processing capacity and marketing of organic dairy products.
