Faithful Patriot Campaign Medal Act

The Faithful Patriot Campaign Medal Act would require the Secretary of Defense to design and issue a new military service medal—the Faithful Patriot Campaign Medal. This medal would honor members of the U.S. Armed Forces and veterans who served on the U.S.–Mexico border during Operation Faithful Patriot or any later border operation. The medal would be issued upon request to retired or former service members; if the recipient is deceased, the Secretary may issue it to the next-of-kin. The bill also requires the Secretary to prepare and disseminate an application process for eligible individuals or their next-of-kin. The act does not specify funding or automatic awarding, and it establishes a discretionary process for recognition rather than automatic presentation.
