A joint resolution providing for congressional disapproval of the proposed export of certain defense articles to Israel.

This joint resolution would block a specific U.S. government-approved export of defense articles to Israel. It targets the proposed sale of 5,000 M5 Commando 5.56mm fully automatic rifles (Category I items on the U.S. Munitions List) valued at $1 million or more, to Israel National Police via M.R.D. Efram Investments Ltd. The sale is described in Transmittal No. DDTC 23-066 and was communicated to Congress in July 2025. The resolution uses Congress’s authority to disapprove such arms transfers; if enacted, it would prohibit the export license and prevent the sale from moving forward. The bill has been introduced in the Senate (as S.J. Res. 70) and has not yet become law.
