Pick Up After Your DOGE Act
This bill would create a federal oversight framework around the so-called United States DOGE Service and its access to federal agency computer systems. Within 30 days of enactment, the DOGE Service administrator must provide Congress and the Comptroller General with a full accounting of all federal agencies whose computer systems, networks, data, or information were accessed by DOGE Service teams or individuals acting on their behalf. The Comptroller General would then begin a comprehensive audit of those agency systems and networks to identify security vulnerabilities or bugs connected to software installed, created, or modified by the DOGE Service or related personnel. Audits would prioritize the Social Security Administration, the Department of Health and Human Services (including CMS), and the Treasury/IRS, with results due in stages: initial results within 1 year for SSA/HHS/CMS and Treasury/IRS, and final results within 2 years for other agencies. If vulnerabilities are found, agency heads must fix them within 90 days and report back on progress to the appropriate committees.
