REP VA Act

The REP VA Act (Representing VA with Accuracy Act) would amend title 38 to improve how the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) communicates with veterans by telephone. It creates a new provision requiring that any call to a veteran made by VA employees or contractors about VA services or benefits come from a single, well-known VA number and display branding that clearly identifies the call as coming from or on behalf of the VA. It also requires the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) to establish at least one call center in each of the major U.S. time zones to handle health-care appointment and referral inquiries, with a deadline of January 1, 2026. A clerical change adds the new section to the table of sections in chapter 63 of title 38. In short, the bill aims to standardize VA phone contact so veterans can recognize VA calls and to improve access to health-care appointments by ensuring dedicated VA call centers across time zones.
