Extending Anti-Terrorism Protections Act of 2025

The Extending Anti-Terrorism Protections Act of 2025 would give the Secretary of Homeland Security temporary authority to extend, for a limited period, the protections provided under the SAFETY Act for qualified anti-terrorism technologies. Specifically, through FY2029, the Secretary may extend these protections if a renewal application was submitted at least 165 days before expiration and is complete at submission. The bill does not guarantee renewal or override final agency decisions; it simply allows a temporary extension to maintain liability protections while renewal is considered. This aims to prevent coverage gaps for technology developers and users while the renewal process proceeds.
