Energy Savings and Weatherization Reauthorization Act of 2025
Energy Savings and Weatherization Reauthorization Act of 2025 reauthorizes the Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) through 2030, extending funds and program authority under the Energy Conservation and Production Act. The bill updates how “fully weatherized” is defined, requiring both the installation of measures recommended by an approved energy audit tool (or priority list) and a final quality control inspection. It also expands the per-dwelling unit financial assistance caps, allowing larger grants per home and providing the Secretary with authority to raise those limits further if market conditions require, to achieve program purposes. The changes are designed to increase funding, tighten quality and effectiveness, and provide flexibility to respond to evolving needs in weatherization efforts.
