GO Ag Act

GO Ag Act would direct the Secretary of Education to award competitive grants to create new agricultural education programs in secondary schools. Grants would be limited to five years and capped at $100,000 per grant, with a total authorization of $5 million to be available through FY 2028. Eligible entities (such as school districts, consortia, or eligible recipients) must partner with higher education institutions or relevant community stakeholders (e.g., labor organizations, local businesses, workforce development boards) but cannot use the grant to prepare students for employment with only one partner. Programs must be new (not already in operation), align with Perkins Career and Technical Education requirements, and include components like curriculum development, instruction, work-based learning, and leadership education through CTSOs. Recipients must participate in evaluation and reporting, disclosing performance by student subgroups and special populations, and protecting student privacy.
