SNAP Study Act of 2025
The SNAP Study Act of 2025 would require the Secretary of Agriculture to produce an annual, public report on the state of food security and diet quality in the United States. The report would cover both SNAP participants and nonparticipants, and would include (1) an analysis comparing food security and diet quality between these groups, (2) a summary and evaluation of SNAP changes enacted in the reporting year and their effectiveness, and (3) policy recommendations to Congress aimed at improving nutrition outcomes for both participants and nonparticipants. The act would amend the Food and Nutrition Act of 2008 to add a new Section 32 establishing this reporting requirement. The requirement would take effect 180 days after enactment, with the first annual report due within one year after that effective date and each year thereafter.
