Violent Antisemitism Threat Assessment Act
The Violent Antisemitism Threat Assessment Act would require the Secretary of Defense to prepare and submit, by March 20, 2026, a comprehensive report to the appropriate congressional armed services committees on the threat posed by violent antisemitism as part of transnational extremist movements. The report would describe ideologies that combine antisemitic content with other transnational violent extremism, catalog violence carried out in support of or motivated by these ideologies (including acts with explicit antisemitic sentiment), and analyze propaganda that spreads such ideologies. It would also assess how these antisemitic violent threats could affect the United States homeland, U.S. citizens abroad, and U.S. government personnel, including members of the Armed Forces, and consider the impact on U.S. interests and global standing. The bill defines “appropriate congressional committees” as the House and Senate Armed Services Committees. The bill is a reporting mandate, not a funding or enforcement provision, and it signals Congress’s interest in evaluating how antisemitism intersects with transnational extremism as a national security concern.
