FREE SPEECH Act of 2025

This bill, titled the Freedom from Regulatory Enforcement and Evaluation of Speech Policies to Ensure Editorial Choice Holds Act of 2025 (FREE SPEECH Act of 2025), would bar the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) from requiring any entity under its regulation to align that entity’s speech with the political ideology of any presidential administration. The prohibition covers rules, orders, and any condition attached to FCC approvals—such as mergers or acquisitions or other required permissions. In short, the bill seeks to prevent the FCC from mandating that regulated entities reflect or promote the political views of the current or any past administration in their public or corporate communications as a condition of regulatory action.
