Immersive Technology for the American Workforce Act of 2025
This bill establishes a competitive grant program within the Department of Labor to fund immersive technology education and training services programs—structured as career pathways—at eligible entities such as community colleges, area career and technical education centers, and related postsecondary institutions. The goal is to develop education and training that use immersive technologies (virtual reality, augmented reality, mixed reality) to prepare workers for in-demand jobs and support economic self-sufficiency. Grants can last up to five years, with no renewal for the same purpose, and recipients must align their programs with workforce and education plans (WIOA and Perkins) while prioritizing employer demand, accessibility for people with barriers to employment, and rural considerations. The bill also requires reporting, evaluation, and the sharing of best practices, and authorizes $50 million annually for 2026–2035.
