A bill to require the National Telecommunications and Information Administration to issue an annual report regarding the use of spectrum by the Federal Government in certain bands of frequencies, and for other purposes.

The Federal Government Spectrum Inventory Act would require the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) to produce an annual report on how the U.S. Federal Government uses radio spectrum in the bands from 225 megahertz to 50 gigahertz. Starting within 180 days of enactment and every year thereafter, NTIA must publish the Federal Government Spectrum Use Report. The report must include an overview of federal usage in the covered bands, include an excerpt from the United States Table of Frequency Allocations with current allocations and any applicable footnotes, list the number and type of frequency assignments authorized, summarize major systems and applications in each band, and describe future uses where applicable. The report should be publicly accessible on NTIA’s website, with a classified annex for sensitive information.
